Renewal of Geochemical Journal
Data – New Category of Geochemical Journal
The GJ editorial committee offers a new category, “Data”, for the author of Geochemical Journal. We ensure the availability of a large variety of unpublished data, which are useful and valuable to geochemistry development, as publication (share of valuable geochemical data and datasets). The quality of research data in “Data” is validated by the review process to provide scientifically meaningful and reliable datasets. “Data” is a peer-reviewed paper and categorized as “Article” or “Article; Data Paper” in the service of Web of Science, Clarivate Analytics. In principle, the accepted manuscript is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC-BY License). Although the Geochemical Society of Japan retains ownership of the copyright, the CC-BY licensed manuscript can be freely and widely available for anyone without restriction. We look forward to your contribution.

GSJ formalizes relations with Geological Society located in Taipei (GST)
The Geochemical Society of Japan (GSJ) has been promoted international cooperation with foreign academic societies. Cosponsoring international conferences and exchange programs of members at the annual meeting have been enforced based on the MOU with those societies. Deepening the relationship to academic societies of East Asian countries is one of the most important subjects to further activate the international activities. We engaged MOU with Geological Society located in Taipei (GST), of which desire has been longed, prior to the annual meeting of 2018 held at University of the Ryukyus. Eighteen members with Prof. Yih-Min Wu, the president of GST, joined the annual meeting; most of them presented their topics to enjoy scientific discussion. We will send members to an academic meeting of the next year in Taiwan. We hope the fruitful relationship will continue for long time in future. Please see pdf file for details of MOU.

The 2nd China-Japan Joint Forum

The 2nd China-Japan Joint Forum on Geochemistry and Cosmochemistry was held at China National Convention Center Grand Hotel in Beijin on 24th of September in order to promote the scientific communication between both societies. Since the 1st joint symposium of Geochemical Society of Japan and the Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry (CSMPG) was held at Toyama University (Professor Jing Zhang) last year, we had a friendly atmosphere this year. Seven Japanese and nine Chinese scientists gave scientific presentation. The leading experts on geochemistry and cosmochemistry from both countries had a fruitful discussion. We will develop our research collaboration in future based upon MOU between both societies. This year CSMPG hosted the Forum and Japanese members would like to express their deep gratitude to Professors Congqiang LIU (center in the front row), Ruizhong HU (the fourth from the right side in the front row) and Yun LIU (the third from the right side in the back row) much for their kindness.
GSJ formalizes relations with Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry
We are pleased to announce that the MOU between the Geochemical Society of Japan and Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry for scientific exchange, which had been approved during last year’s General Assembly, was signed at a signing ceremony in Beijing on 16 July 2012. The signing ceremony was a stately yet friendly occasion as pictured. From GSJ, former President Prof. Ebihara, Prof. Zhang from Toyama University, and the President, myself attended. From Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry, the President, Prof. Liu attended along with a dozen executive Society members. Although the ceremony took place in July due to scheduling, the signatures were made retroactively for 1 January 2012. After the signing ceremony, both parties participated in the introduction of both Societies and histories leading up to this MOU, as well as the discussion of the future plan for the scientific exchange. The discussion included the constructive exchange on the GC2016 and future cooperative relationship. The MOU is fundamental and broad. We would like to encourage our Society members to take advantage of the MOU to further expand mutual scientific exchange activities.
